concept videos are very artistic and generally have nothing to do with the music but do have something to do with the artist’s character and there views or personal statement, sometimes these videos can be utterly meaningless this in turn doesn’t that they are unmemorable and not entertaining, in my opinion I think there more enjoyable.
This is a personal preference as I am very into my art and like the strangeness and artistic props and people’s abstract views and make up or clothing. I am going to anglicizing Florence and the machine’s music video dog days as she features in the video the music video is a hybrid as it is a mix of performance and concept most videos overlap on theories.

Florence features in the video
singing while there are clowns dancing and screaming in the video she has used allot of props her video is set in the woods and is very artistic and different. Her opening sequence of the video looks like a banded circus parade with trailed bunting everywhere a very good establishing shot and then she starts to walk in to the scene stepping over dead leaves and tree roots. She is wearing a pure white dress which symbolises very pure strong women.
Then is changes as she is now on the floor with people emerging out of the bunting and tree roots on the ground, very earthy feel and run away circus feel. She gets blind folded and gets taken to a different part of the forest by these very artistically painted faces with clowns.
They have there wooden sticks and are hitting them on the rhythm of the beat and also the cuts go with it going to different clown on every different beat. This both syncs the music with the video, all the clowns start to hide as she is unrevealing her blind fold. She is felt in the middle of the open space and the camera is circling her and cutting quickly to the clowns hiding, this adds to the emotion and her lost feeling.
Then they appear and scare her and she runs a very good over the shoulder and tracking shot is shown to show her panic then she trips, the group of clown look scary up in trees almost judging her. They crowd her and dress her in colourful beautiful circus cloths this making her into a circus person and then turns into a party and there no long fast cuts that confuse and worry.
